With just a matter of days before the White Rabbit team descend on La Sarthe we can already feel the excitement building up on what is lined up to be another great event. We have experienced a lot of interest this year in our private campsite with a massive percentage being previous members returning with us for another year. We also welcome all the newbie’s to our Le Mans experience and look forward to your feedback on your experience.

To expand on what we provided last year the WRR private campsite has had a bit more work done and will hopefully be even nicer than last year!

To repeat the success of last year we will again be providing race coverage from within the members lounge in the house and hopefully will be able to put together another film night as last year’s proved such a huge success. From my point of view last year was a great experience as I was sat by the projector on film night and expected to turn around at the end of the film to find half of the crowd had left, to my amazement everyone was still sat firm and to top it off we had a great time launching the many sky lanterns into the warm Le Mans evening.

Over the build up to the race I managed to pop around and say hi to a few of the new members joining us to pop their Le Mans cherry, and it’s safe to say some of you was more excited than a 5 year old at Christmas so I hope to see and chat to more people this year!

This year we are set for a great race, the Diesel LMP1 cars are once again set to be head to head with Audi returning on what’s promised to be a much better package than the R15 of 2009. We also have Aston Martin LMP1 returning to take on the might of the Diesel generation.

Another couple of teams to watch/cheer for are the British teams of Drayson Racing and Beechdean Mansel Racing. From earlier races of 2010 Drayson Racing are showing incredible pace for the Petrol teams and now featuring Emanuelle Pirro who proved at Sebring that since leaving from Audi as a works driver that he still has what it takes to upset the top teams by pulling off what has to be said as some of the best overtaking on the Peugeot that I have ever seen, and yes I did say the Petrol LMP1 overtaking the Mighty fast Peugeot Diesel!!

Further back on the grid we are also seeing a shuffle up on the classes and see new cars racing for the 2010 race such as the FORD GT and BMW M3. Bmw Racing have shown great progress on building a top GT car with hard racing at Leguna Seca with the Flying Lizard racing Porsche to finish in the 2nd place spot just 1 car length behind after 6 hours racing. Also BMW Celebrate a overall victory at the Nurburgring after a hard 24 hours showing they are a force to be reckoned with at Le Mans.

This year we are also granted the pleasure of a complete sports packed weekend with England playing in the World Cup and the Formula 1 race on the Sunday. We understand not everyone will be up for watching the other sport events but we will try to show as much as possible.

From myself I wish you all a great journey down and look forward to another great holiday.
